Mark Ording has more than 25 years of experience in association and nonprofit marketing, sponsorship strategy & measurement, business development, client service and finance/accounting. In early 2023, Mark started VisionMark Consulting, which specializes in developing sponsorship strategies and measurement solutions for properties and brand marketers. As a JSB collaborator, Mark leads client engagements and adds expertise in asset development, valuation and go-to-market strategies

Previously, Mark led the measurement division at Intersport where he delivered measurement services to 20+ brand clients to help negotiate sponsorships, measure results and maximize returns for a total combined portfolio of more than $300 million of sports/entertainment marketing and sponsorship investments.

Mark also spent 17 years at IEG / ESP Properties where he served as VP, Consulting, led IEG’s Valuation and Research departments and helped build IEG Valuation Service, the industry’s first third-party source for sponsorship valuations. During his time at IEG, Mark helped hundreds of rightsholders and brands justify over $2 billion in marketing investments and commercial revenue. Mark is also a CPA and started his career as an auditor at Grant Thornton.

  • Working with American College of Healthcare Executives, American College of Rheumatology, ASAE and other association clients to help them build their sponsorship strategy and increase revenue from corporate partners.
  • Driving incremental sponsorship sales and other corporate revenue by identifying new brand targets, writing customized proposals, creating sponsorship platforms, and providing sales support
  • Setting clients up for success by delivering strategic counsel and support around optimal staffing structure, obtaining buy-in from the Board and other stakeholders, updating corporate partner policies and developing the organization’s go-to-market strategy.

Mark earned his business degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has 3 kids and enjoys spending all his free time driving them to soccer practice. He also likes running half marathons, live music, spicy food, comedy, documentaries and suffering through Chicago Bears and Blackhawks games.
