Mark is a JSB Collaborator and experienced partnership marketing consultant. He has 20 years of experience in sponsorship, sports and entertainment marketing and accounting. After spending 17 years at IEG and ESP Properties, Mark is focusing on serving clients working with JSB Partnership Consultants.
While at IEG and ESP Properties, Mark led consulting engagements to develop strategies that increase revenue for rightsholders and maximize return for brand partners. Throughout his career, Mark has leveraged his financial background to help clients increase the value of their partnerships.
Mark’s experience has included managing IEG’s Valuation and Research departments. In this role, he oversaw the completion of more than 300 valuations for 200+ clients, justifying more than $2 billion worth of sponsorship and marketing investments. Mark was also part of the ESP Properties business development team and deeply involved in growing business for ESP and its clients.
His experience has included:
- Providing decision-making tools for brands and agencies to help them strategically select, evaluate and activate their sponsorships
- Developing and innovating products and services at ESP
- Working with professional sports teams such as the Minnesota Twins and San Francisco 49ers to help them secure millions of dollars of new revenue from naming rights and sponsorships
- Helping associations and causes such as Alzheimer's Association, American Society of Association Executives, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Professional Convention Management Association and Susan G. Komen develop and enhance their partnership strategies and increase revenue
Some of his other clients have included American Society of Association Executives, Calgary Stampede, Carnegie Science Center, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, DTE Energy, Essence Music Festival, Houston Marathon, Houston Texans, Kentucky Derby, LEGOLAND California, Miami Heat, Nashville Symphony, Orlando Magic, The Related Companies, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco Travel, Science Museum Minnesota, Space Center Houston, Talking Stick Resort, UBS, United Airlines, USS Midway Museum and Werner Co.
Prior to joining IEG, Mark worked as a senior auditor at Grant Thornton, an international public accounting firm based in Chicago. He is a CPA and earned his degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
